Summer School A: The 18th Century Ballroom. Saturday 3 – Tuesday 6 August
Tutors: Sasza Zargowski and Moira Goff
The course runs from Saturday evening, with a welcome dinner, through to Tuesday evening. Participants
may sign up for one, two or all three days. The Ball is included.

Summer School B: The late Renaissance in England and France. Wednesday 7 – Monday 12 August
Tutors: Hazel Dennison and Anne Daye
This course begins on Wednesday evening and ends after breakfast on Monday, with four full days of
classes.

Dance experience is an advantage for some classes but beginners are welcome.

The university offers standard and en suite bedrooms that share small kitchens equipped with refrigerator, microwave and kettle. Chichester is a delightful cathedral city within walking distance of the campus, set within classic Sussex landscape near the sea.

Bishop Otter Campus is situated south west of London and can easily be reached by rail from Waterloo or Victoria stations in London. Road links are reasonable and the campus is easily found. Travel from Luton airport and particularly Gatwick airport is by train and is relatively easy using the Thameslink line. Access from other London Airports can also be via Victoria Station, which has more trains than Waterloo, or via Thameslink. Participants arriving by rail will need to take a short taxi or bus journey to the campus. Fuller details can be provided on request.

Residential: a residential day runs from dinner and evening activity through to end
of classes at 5.30 pm the following day.
Non-residential: includes daily classes, evening activity, lunch and dinner.
Further details of the course programme, classes and accommodation will be sent to applicants in late May. DHDS reserves the right to change tutors and alter the programme if necessary.

Full bursaries are available to assist those who would otherwise be unable to attend the Summer School because of the cost. Students, recent graduates and others wishing to teach or research historical dance may be eligible. Further details.
